Your Bangkok Community
Interning in Thailand here will be a challenge, but we’ll ensure you feel at home during the course of your program. Our team is on hand 24/7 to help guide you through your time here, introduce you to the city, and answer your questions. Of course, other interns will all be just as keen to help get you settled in.
Welcome Orientation
This session is a full introduction to the program structure. It’s the ideal opportunity to prepare for the exciting and transformative few months ahead, allowing you to introduce yourself, ask questions, and build initial connections with your colleagues. Be sure to also look out for our regular dinner invitations every few weeks!
Networking Opportunities
You won’t just gain exposure, you’ll also make new connections. Throughout your internship, you’ll have the chance to meet professionals from across industries networking events and informal meetups.
Ayutthaya Trip
Step back in time with a day trip to Ayutthaya, Thailand’s former royal capital. Just a short journey from Bangkok, this UNESCO World Heritage site is packed with towering temple ruins, intricate Buddha statues, and centuries of history you can walk through.
The markets here are alive with color, flavor, and energy. Wander through stalls brimming with local delicacies, handmade goods, and textiles. It’s the perfect mix of cultural discovery and laid-back adventure.
Thai Cooking Class
Start with a trip to the local market, where you’ll learn how to spot the freshest herbs, spices, and ingredients that bring Thai dishes to life. It’s a chance to see the city through a local lens and pick up a few tips along the way.
Back in the kitchen, you’ll be guided by expert chefs as you prepare classic Thai recipes from scratch. Whether it’s a fragrant green curry or a spicy papaya salad, you’ll leave with new skills and a deeper love for Thai cuisine.
Floating Markets
A visit to Bangkok’s floating markets is like stepping into another world. You’ll travel by boat through winding canals, passing vendors who sell everything from tropical fruits to steaming bowls of noodle soup, all from the decks of their longtail boats. It’s a unique look at local life and a tradition that’s still very much alive.
Whether you go in the early morning or late afternoon, the markets are full of energy and color. You’ll have the chance to taste incredible food, pick up handmade goods, and take in the sights and sounds of one of Bangkok’s most iconic experiences.

See what awaits you! Here’s a snapshot of what it’s like to intern in Bangkok based on a typical 6-week program.
Weeks 1 & 2
The presence of Thai culture greets you the moment you land. Suvarnabhumi (meaning “golden land”) is more than just an airport. Once you’re in your accommodation, you can get acclimatized and find your feet. Join us for orientation and welcome dinner. Relax, meet other interns, and make some friends.
As your internship begins, there’s plenty to take in. The daily commute might involve Bangkok’s Skytrain or, if you’re up for it, a ride in a tuk tuk through the busy streets. At the office, you’ll meet your team and find your rhythm. After work, join our Community Team for a casual drink, share stories from your first week, and begin feeling at home.
Before long, we’ll head out on our day trip to Ayutthaya. This ancient city offers a powerful glimpse into Thailand’s royal past, with its crumbling temples, grand ruins, and centuries-old history waiting to be explored.
Weeks 3 & 4
Connect with your manager over a refreshing Thai iced tea to discuss your internship progress. Businesses in Bangkok know the importance of networking and there are some great events here. Our team will keep you up-to-date and send you invites.
Thailand is world renowned for its amazing cuisine and your market and cooking tour will let you see how the locals really do it. The blend of flavors achieved in Thai cooking is incredible; you’ll get to shop for the best ingredients and cook up a storm!
Weeks 5 & 6
With your internship in its last few weeks, you’ll be having the time of your life and picking up skills and memories that will stay with you forever.
All these new ideas and skills will mean it’s a great time to do the 1-to-1 career coaching session. Talk to our professional career coach about your dreams and ambitions, and match them up to solid plans and goals. Map out your path to career success clearly.
Also, you can’t leave Bangkok without visiting its famous floating markets! Join us on an authentic trip to Damnoen Saduak, take a ride on a long tail boat, and sample delicious local dishes made with recipes passed down through generations.
Enjoy some time with your new friends and spin tales of your adventures in Thailand at our farewell dinner. The many friends and contacts you’ve made will stay part of your professional network. Before you leave Bangkok, take the time for one last authentic green curry!

Accommodation

We work with a few carefully selected partners in Bangkok. Mainly shared apartments and studios, we only provide options that meet our safety, quality and cleanliness standards. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and some young professionals. So it’s a great way to integrate with local community for those traveling from overseas.
You will get a studio or a private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding and Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations can vary but you’ll always be well located and near public transport. Depending on your office location, we try to ensure your commute time is 30-60 minutes, which is pretty good for Bangkok.
Due to demand for short term accommodation and ever changing availability, we usually confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your start date.
