Orientation
Your first day allows you to settle in and adjust (especially beneficial if you’ve traveled from afar). On your second day, you’ll participate in a thorough orientation, where we’ll provide essential information about the city and a complete overview of the program for the weeks and months ahead.

A Professional Internship
We offer a guaranteed internship in the industry of your choice, with start dates every month, and durations from one to six months. The program will give you insight into local business practice wherever you are, and equip you with real-world skills that you can use everywhere.

This session is a full introduction to the program structure. It’s the ideal opportunity to prepare for the exciting and transformative few months ahead, allowing you to introduce yourself, ask questions, and build initial connections with your colleagues. Savour an afternoon packed with culture and history with our area tour, led by a local foodie and architect. Sample delicious tapas while discovering the city’s stunning architectural evolution, from Catalan Gothic masterpieces to the unique Modernisme style. Your Program
At a Glance
See what awaits you; here’s a snapshot of what it’s like to intern in Barcelona based on a typical 6-week program.
Weeks 1 & 2
You’ll know you’re about to land as the plane glides over the hot Med seascape. Hola, Barcelona! Take a day to find your feet and settle into your accommodation. Next up is your orientation and welcome dinner, where you’ll get to meet the other interns and start making some new friends.
Your internship will begin with a whirl of amazing new experiences. Meet the new team you’ll be working with, and take a tour of your new office. Nibble on Patatas Bravas and chorizo whilst you catch up with our Community Manager. Barcelona is a treat at night, so take the long way home.
Keep up the focus on work with our Business Workshop. There are a load of tools and insights to discover that will come in use during your internship and beyond.
The first trip, along the Costa Brava to Girona, will take in the sometimes rugged, sometimes golden-smooth, coastline and end in a city steeped in historical significance.
Weeks 3 & 4
Find a spot to get coffee with your manager and have a feedback session on how you’ve been doing at work. Barcelona has a fizzing networking scene and we’ll be finding the very best opportunities for you to build your international network.
Fancy taking some tapas recipes home? Learn how to cook the perfect Paella (and local Catalan version, “Fideua”) with a local chef in our Spanish cooking class.
Weeks 5 & 6
You’ll be forming new ideas, dreams, and ambitions about your career, so it’s a great time for your 1-to-1 career coaching session. You can talk over your goals and begin to make plans for career success.
While Gaudi is the big local name in architecture, there is lots more to take in during your time in Barcelona. Our third trip combines buildings and tapas with a local foodie architect.
Say adiós to all the amazing people you’ve met and friends you’ve made during our farewell dinner. Grab a few more of your favorite tapas at a seafront bar and catch one last sunset. Barcelona will be waiting for you to visit again.

We work with a few carefully selected partners in Barcelona. Mainly student accommodation and shared apartments, we only provide options that meet our safety, quality and cleanliness standards. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and some young professionals. So it’s a great way to integrate with local community for those traveling from overseas.
You will get a private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding and Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations can vary but you’ll always be well located and near public transport. Depending on your office location, we try to ensure your commute time is 30-60 minutes.
Due to demand for short term accommodation and ever changing availability, we usually confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your start date.
