Orientation
Your first day allows you to settle in and adjust (especially beneficial if you’ve traveled from afar). On your second day, you’ll participate in a thorough orientation, where we’ll provide essential information about the city and a complete overview of the program for the weeks and months ahead.

A Professional Internship
We offer a guaranteed internship in the industry of your choice, with start dates every month, and durations from one to six months. The program will give you insight into local business practice wherever you are, and equip you with real-world skills that you can use everywhere.

You can schedule it around your diary, which is bound to be pretty full, so you can talk about what is most important to you. Do it at the beginning of the program to focus on making the most of the internship. A mid-term session is great if you want to talk about how you’re finding things. Take it towards the end if some self-reflection and forward-planning is in order.

Your New York Community
Our Community Team will be there to support you from the moment you get off the plane until the end of your time in New York. Ask any questions to help you get into your stride. Moving to a new city is exciting and soon NYC will feel like a second home, and our Community Team and other interns like a second family.
Welcome Orientation
This session is a full introduction to the program structure. It’s the ideal opportunity to prepare for the exciting and transformative few months ahead, allowing you to introduce yourself, ask questions, and build initial connections with your colleagues. Be sure to also look out for our regular dinner invitations every few weeks!

Brooklyn Tour
It’s famous for its yellow taxis and pizza, but there is much more to New York than that. Take it all in with a tour of Brooklyn, a killer combination of history and taste sensations.
Lower East Side
The Tenement Museum offers a time-capsule view of early 1900’s New York. A magical walk that brings American immigrants’ history to life. Grab lunch at Katz Deli—allegedly NYC’s most beloved deli!
Jazz Night
Back in the 90s, New York was home turf to the who’s who of jazz music; from Ella Fitzgerald and Wynton Marsalis to Count Basie and Duke Ellington. The city’s love for it lingers on into the 21st century (as it should), and it’s now a weekend staple at nearly every watering hole and concert hall alike. We’ll take you to at least one live gig performed of NYC’s very best.

See what awaits you! Here’s a snapshot of what it’s like to intern in London based on a typical 6-week program.
Weeks 1 & 2
As soon as you arrive, you’ll feel the hustle of the city that never sleeps. The energy is infectious; hop right in and get lost (you won’t really, thanks to the street grid). Find the accommodation that’s waiting for you and settle in. The next item on your agenda will be the orientation and welcome dinner. Meet the other New York interns and start to make new friends.
Starting your internship in New York is a serious buzz. You’ll be eager to get to know your new team and find out more about the company you’re working for. Catch up with our Community Manager over dinner in West Village after work. Walk the last few blocks home. Street jazz, used books cart, donut truck—you never know what you might stumble upon at a street corner.
The business workshop will introduce you to some new tools and insights that you can put in to practice at work. Our first event takes you across the East River into Brooklyn. Foodies heaven, hipster vibes, brownstone houses—discover Williamsburg and Dumbo and get a taste of both history and food.
Weeks 3 & 4
As your internship progresses, it’s the ideal time to sit down with your manager to talk about how you’re doing.
New York never sleeps and there are networking events across the city. We’ll track down the best and make sure you get an invite. No other city houses more big personalities and creative bunch, you’ll make some incredible contacts in NYC.
Continue to explore the city with our tour of the Tenement Museum and Lower East Side. Enjoy lunch at LES institution Katz Deli—home to that famous pastrami sandwich.
Weeks 5 & 6
You’ll be well into your internship now and learning more and more every day. It’s a great time to start looking ahead.
The internship will have given you new ideas and shaped your dreams and ambitions. Talk it over with a professional coach in your 1-to-1 career coaching session. You can explore how you want your career to expand and make plans for success.
Join us for a swanky night of jazz and blues in one of New York’s many legendary jazz clubs, where famous icons are honored and music boundaries are pushed by contemporary players.
It’s nearly time to go but you’ll get a great send-off with our farewell dinner. Say goodbye to your new friends and savor every last moment of your experiences. One last pizza slice at your favourite diner for the road before you bid farewell to the Big Apple?

We work with a few carefully selected partners in New York. Mainly student accommodation and shared apartments, we only provide options that meet our safety, quality and cleanliness standards. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and some young professionals. So it’s a great way to integrate with local community for those traveling from overseas.
You will get a private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding and Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations can vary but you’ll always be well located and near public transport. Depending on your office location, we try to ensure your commute time is 30-60 minutes.
Due to demand for short term accommodation and ever changing availability, we usually confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your start date.
