Orientation
Take your first day settling in (and get over jetlag for those coming from afar!). You will be invited to a comprehensive orientation on your second day in the country, where we will tell you everything you need to know about the city and what to expect from the program in the coming weeks and months.
Welcome dinner
After the orientation, our welcome dinner will be the perfect opportunity for you to get to know your fellow interns better. Many of our previous interns have made friends for life during their internship programs!
Bi-Weekly community dinner
There will be a community dinner every few weeks to keep you in touch with everyone.
Every few weeks we will get everyone together for a fun evening of catchups and good local food.

Your Toronto Community
Toronto is a fascinating city to work and live in. The Canadians are very much their own people but they are also very friendly and accepting. You’ll be sure to have a blast.
Adapting to life in another country is an exciting experience and in no time you’ll start to feel at home. Our community team is there to help and your fellow interns will be like a second family during your time away. If you want to ask any questions, like the best time to visit attractions, how to get to work or where to find the best ‘poutine’, just reach out and we’ll be glad to help.

A full introduction to the program, the city and other interns. The perfect chance to get ready for the transformative few months ahead. There’ll be more dinner invites every few weeks, so keep an eye out.

Niagara Falls
The amazing 800 meter brink of the falls seem to steethe and foam, before the water plunges 50 meters into the misty basin. The adventurous can see it all up close on a boat tour.
Distillery District
Explore how the story of a young city collides with the rise of the Gooderham and Worts Distillery. With Victorian buildings and cobblestone streets that are steeped in history, the Distillery District is today lined with hip restaurants, bars, boutiques, galleries, and outdoor theaters. Cap off a day of culture and history with a lovely dinner with your fellow interns.
Food Tour
The locals all have their favorite spots for food. The markets, shops, cafés and restaurants of Toronto hide a delight of international treats. You’ll get to try it all!

Weeks 1 & 2
Hit the ground running as you land, you’ve made it to Toronto. Welcome to an exhilarating few months.
Once you’ve unpacked your bags at the accommodation, take a day to settle in. The next evening will see you attending our orientation and welcome dinner. You’ll get a chance to chat to the other interns and make some new friends.
Get ready for an intensive few days as you dive right into your internship. Don’t worry – your new team will help you get settled into your new office in no time. Unwind after work at dinner with our Community Team after work. Toronto is a walker’s dream so explore a new neighborhood on your way home. How about Queen West for some live music?
Join others at our Business Workshop. Pick up some useful tools, techniques, and insights that can help with your career in general and your internship in particular.
Our first trip takes in the mighty Niagara falls. As 2,271,247 liters of water per second gush past on the Canadian “Horseshoe falls”, it’s a spectacular sight and sound

Weeks 3 & 4
Head to one of the many nearby coffee shops to chat with your manager and get some feedback.
Networking events are a great way to build up your international contact network with industry professionals. We’ll find the best and get you invited along.
Toronto has an amazing history and you’ll discover it on our Distillery district walking tour. Lost buildings, Gothic revival architecture and unique story of smuggling, gangsters and Prohibition. Cap it off with dinner at a local restaurant.

Weeks 5 & 6
You’ll be running at full steam in your internship, so it’s a great tine to start looking ahead to the future.
The 1-to-1 career coaching session lets you take a look at everything you’ve learned on the internship and how it’s impacted your career plans. Talk about dreams and ambitions, goals and aims. Make some solid plans for the future.
By now you’ll know from first hand experience how cosmopolitan and multicultural this incredible city really is. Join our walking food tour and try delights from Sri Lanka, East Africa, India, The West Indies, The Middle East, and Greece.
The program is nearly finished, so enjoy an amazing send off at our farewell dinner. Say goodbye to your new friends and enjoy the chance to compare experiences. Before you leave, grab a few fun memories by snapping some selfies in The Vog Vault.
Accommodation
in Toronto
+ CAD1700 per month
We work with a few carefully selected partners in Toronto. Mainly student accommodation and shared apartments, we only provide options that meet our safety, quality and cleanliness standards. You’ll be living with fellow Beyond Interns, students and some young professionals. So it’s a great way to integrate with local community for those traveling from overseas.
You will get a private bedroom with shared communal spaces (kitchen, living spaces etc). All rooms come with bedding and Wi-Fi, and often have a desk. Locations can vary but you’ll always be well located and near public transport. Depending on your office location, we try to ensure your commute time is 30-60 minutes.
Due to demand for short term accommodation and ever changing availability, we usually confirm your exact accommodation and location around 3-4 weeks before your start date.
