Your London Community

London is a cultural and artistic powerhouse and you’ll be part of its rich creative community in no time. Although famous for its economic and trading prowess, London is a beacon of photography and design. Many photojournalists itch to be featured in the six-storey Photographer’s Gallery, which exhibits the world’s finest photographers; including London-born Terence Donovan and David Bailey!

You’ll be part of a multicultural community of interns. And our Community Team will be ready to answer any of your questions. How do I get to Piccadilly Circus from the East End? Do I need to pay entrance fees for museums?

Welcome Orientation

Once you join our team, it’s time you meet your fellow interns, get to know the city, and familiarize yourself with your chosen program. This is all made possible with our detailed introduction and orientation. Plus, there’ll be more dinner invites every few weeks, so keep an eye out.

Networking Opportunities

There will be plenty of events and professional networking opportunities in London. But we’ll score you an invite to a top networking event in your industry. Build bridges with other creatives and rub shoulders with artists, photographers and designers. You never know who you might meet!

Cambridge Trip

Founded by Henry III in 1209, Cambridge is a meeting point for both world-class scientists and artists. As you ‘punt’ on Cambridge’s scenic river canals you’ll marvel at the university’s dominating gothic architecture; Cambridge once accommodated artistic geniuses such as Anthony Gormley, Marc Quinn and Quentin Blake.

Weeks 1 & 2

When you arrive, our team will pick you up from Heathrow Airport and escort you straight to your new home for the next few months.

Your experience is our main priority, and we want you to feel at home. After all, it’s your first day. Why not catch your breath or get over the jetlag if you’ve had a long flight. Or explore the city straight away? The following day is your London orientation and welcome dinner. Here you’ll get to know your fellow interns and start making new friends.

As you begin your arts internship, you’ll face new and thrilling experiences. You’ll meet the directors of the studio, as well as your colleagues. At the end of your first day, unwind and enjoy English cuisine at one of our Community Team dinners. Then jump onto the Tube or let a iconic double-decker show you around London’s historic streets on your way home.

During your arts internship you’ll generate new insights every day. As you start to get a feel for the place, this is a great time to take our workshop. Finetune your skills and equip yourself with tools and insights you’ll find useful for your artistic development.

Next, you’ll punt along the canals of Cambridge as you explore this picturesque university city. Kick back, relax, and enjoy the green meadows and Gothic architecture.

Weeks 3 & 4

Supervisors may first ask you to copy every move they make, but now it’s time for you to discover your own style. Some of your tasks may include photography coverage, illustrating and taking part in creative meetings. At the end of each day or week, you’ll receive fresh feedback. The more you progress, the more complex your tasks will become.

By the time you leave your program, you will have sampled the myriad specialties offered by your industry. You might prefer illustrating to logo design. Or you would rather work together with a creative PR team on events and campaigns.

While you grapple with your placement, we’ll be scanning the area for some of the world-class networking events launched in London. Keep an eye out for your invite! Meanwhile, take the time to indulge in your second trip; an amazing theatrical experience.

Weeks 5 & 6

By now, it’s high time to start thinking ahead about your future career in the arts.

A 1-to-1 career coaching session is your opportunity to discuss career ambitions and how to realize your dreams. Our professional coach will be able to offer applicable advice on goals and career aims, seasoning you for success.

Remember to save some time for our East London food tour. Stroll through the lively and buzzing Spitalfields Market and vibrant Brick Lane areas.
