Who is Beyond Academy?
How did it all start?
Beyond Academy was founded in 2019 by Ryan Walker, a former management consultant and serial entrepreneur who managed to turn things around for himself after dropping out of school at 16.
Where can you find us?
We’re a fully remote company – no traditional offices here! We mostly work from home (sometimes in our PJs when we can help it), but you’ll also find us hanging out in co-working spaces or soaking up inspiration in trendy cafés. Don’t let the casual vibe fool you though; every single one of us works hard to deliver on what we promise to you and make our fantastic programs a reality.
Who are the people behind Beyond?
We are a truly global team with over 50 people from 17 nationalities located across 14 countries! We come from various backgrounds and walks of life, yet share one thing in common – we live (or have lived) abroad, and embrace the transformative impact of travel, cultural immersion, diverse interactions, and unique experiences. It is this shared passion that unites us in our commitment to crafting programs that create life-changing opportunities.

Why am I being asked to pay for an internship?
Our programs are much more than just an internship. It’s a full-blown immersive experience that combines work, travel, career development, networking and so much more. You may be just starting out in your career, and the job market can be a scary place to navigate alone. This may also be the first opportunity you’ve had to travel and live abroad. What better way to do it than with a community of like-minded people from around the world? Long story short, you pay to ensure you’ll have support every step of the way, and to have that peace of mind when embarking on this exciting journey!
Why are your programs expensive? Is it worth it?
Maybe we’re biased, but YES, it’s all worth it. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes at every milestone in your journey with us. It starts with ensuring potential roles align with your interests and the companies meet our stringent criteria. We put your resumes directly in the hands of hiring managers, convince them to meet with you for an interview, and ensure you’re well-prepared and confident. We also take care of accommodation arrangements, help you navigate the new city when you arrive, plan orientations, gatherings, and weekly events that you’ll participate in during the program. There’s also a whole bunch of career development activities, and the list goes on. We ultimately want this to be an all-rounded experience for you, and you’ll get more out of it than what you pay for!

Why can’t you tell me more about my internship company?
We work with over 5,000 partner companies around the world – that’s a huge number. Will we place you in one of them? Possibly, but a new role could pop up tomorrow at one of London’s hottest agencies or at an up-and-coming fashion label in Tokyo that perfectly fits your profile. We don’t know where you’ll be interning at now, and don’t want to limit our choices for you. You’ll find out about these companies once we jump into the placement process!
Give our Placement Manager a chance to get to know you personally and use what they learn from you to match you with the best possible role. We typically consider industry relevance, role availability, experience and of course, the company’s requirements. It’s an incredibly personalised process as we want to find you a role that suits you well!
How can I be sure of the quality of my internship?
Our definition of a professional internship is one that gives you a genuine learning experience and contributes to your professional development. If an internship opportunity doesn’t meet this basic criteria of ours, we strike it off our list and move on to the next one.
What happens after I pay my deposit?
Your deposit secures your spot in our program, but also, this is where the fun starts! You’ll get introduced to your Placement Manager, your go-to person over the next few weeks who will get you on track to securing your internship! They will curate available opportunities in the market and you’ll soon get to meet your hiring manager for an interview. Don’t worry, your Placement Manager will guide you along and make sure you’re interview-ready!
How do I know my money is safe?
All of our payments are processed through Flywire, a leading global payment platform. Our interns come from around the world and pay in a variety of currencies, and Flywire lets you make payments with ease! It is the preferred partner of many educational institutions around the world, so you can be absolutely sure that your money is in the safest of hands.
What is your guarantee and refund policy?
Worried about us not being able to deliver our services? Don’t! We have a refund policy that guarantees you an internship in your first or second industry, or you’ll get your money back! It’s that simple.
We also have a 7-day grace period just in case you change your mind or get cold feet, which entitles you to a full refund.
